  20. Newbridge is manufacturing a chip named Spanner and known as CA91C068. It provides
  21. a glueless interface to a 68040 bus. It can be used to build peripheral boards for
  22. PCI based machines; if you want to use the Spanner without any central arbitration,
  23. you will have to add some extra circuitry.

  25. Newbridge also provides two application notes in the User Manual which explain how
  26. to inteface to a 68360 and how to be a stand-alone PCI bus master (the 68040 needs
  27. to access the configuration space). Have a look at http://www.newbridge.com !
